(Semi)-Exclusive: Neal McDonough Gets Desperate!

Neal McDonough I’ve been off enjoying the final days of my little hiatusabbitcal, so apologies for neglecting you guys this past week. As a make-good, below you’ll find a blazing hot scoop, plus other assorted musings.

* Sources confirm to me semi-exclusively that Neal McDonough is joining the cast of Desperate Housewives next season as a series freakin’ regular. To say the ex-Traveler’s role is shrouded in secrecy is the understatement of the millennium, but, well since another outlet went and blabbed it, I guess it’s fair game: McDonough is coming on as a new love interest for Edie! So if you were wondering whether Nicolette Sheridan was returning next season, there’s your answer!

* Emmy finalist snap-judgement: Yay the inclusion of Lost, FNL and Pushing Daisies! Nay the absence of Big Love, HIMYM and The New Adventures of Old Christine. (Boston Legal’s semi-nod defies categorization.)

* As I first revealed via my Facebook profile, 50 Cent, accompanied by an entourage of eight, was sitting 10 rows behind me on American Airlines Flight 23 from JFK to LAX Monday night. But that wasn’t the only thing that made the flight memorable: We landed 30 minutes early only to wait 67 minutes on the tarmac for our gate to become free. Not fun. Not fun at all.

* TGIF! Big weekend plans? I’m going to see that silent move starring the cute robot.

The saw thing happened to me a couple weeks ago. Seattle to LAX landed a half hour early an waited 45 minutes for another plane to move out of our gate. What is up with that? And there was no 50 Cent to entertain me. I did see Gregory Itzin and Andy Richter at the Burbank airport last year though. They did the “oh hey. We’re both famous. What’s up?” thing and let me take pictures with each. So nice!

  2. Matt Says:

See, I would have gone with “Tin Man Follows Road to Wisteria Lane” - if only to get a chuckle out of the 74 people who saw that Sci Fi miniseries.

    Let the games beginnnnnnnnnn!

  3. Maya Says:

YAY for Flight of the Conchords I love them! They are about the only unique nominee, well of course Family guy is still WTF?!?!? Still pulling for 30 Rock. Does Daisies really qualify as a comedy though? I love the show, but I think it’s more of a quirky Drama.

  4. Allison Says:

Let us know what you think of Wall-E. I think it looks waaaay boring, but Pixar hasn’t failed me yet, so I’m trying to withhold judgement. I’m trying to collect reviews from people with tastes similar to mine, and you fit that bill. So…how was it?

  5. Jimmy Says:

What, not tears for Battlestar Galactica getting frakked once again? BSG is far better than most of that top 10.

  6. Viki Says:

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Neal McDonough!!! I HATE Desparate Housewives!!! THE HORROR!!!!

  7. Mooshki Says:

Someone I know was on a flight Tuesday with OJ Simpson. His girlfriend had a broken arm and was walking with a limp. Scary!

FOUR MORE DAYS UNTIL JULY 2ND!!!!!!!!!!!

  8. Mooshki Says:

Ha, searching for you on Facebook I came across the group “1,000,000 strong against Michael Ausiello.” It has four members. Fail!

  9. Gia Says:

McDonough fans are NOT happy about this. Why Neal??? WHY????? And what’s up with all the off topic comments! GET TO WORK IDIOTS! And HELLO! TO that idiot who made the comment about “74″ people watching Tin Man. Try MILLIONS, you moron!

    Micky-D fans are NOT HAPPY!

  10. ALena Says:

YIPEE!! By my calculations tomorrow is July 2nd! AUSIELLO IS BACK :) Can’t wait!

  11. Jen Says:

Why do people get so hopeful about the Emmys? They invariably suck - why think that this year will be different?

Yeah, I saw 50 cent at a restaurant once. He’s more like a quarter. Teeny tiny muscular man.
