You read it here first, folks: NBC’s Heist has been foiled, effective immediately. Not sure what it’ll be replaced with.
Is anyone upset about this? Personally, I wasn’t a fan.

Ummm is this four posts in one day? Wow…
April 6th, 2006 at 10:33 pm
You must be really bored…but who am I to judge. I’m on your website making a post.
I never watched the show.
April 7th, 2006 at 2:41 am
The show was okay. I would’ve liked to see where they went with the storyline, but I’m not losing any sleep over it getting the ax.
April 7th, 2006 at 8:52 am
4 posts in one day? Its not even my birthday!!!!
April 7th, 2006 at 9:36 am
I kinda liked “Heist”. Well, liked it better than “Thief” at least which seems to be dark and depressing because…well, they can be on FX.
Of course, “Heist” would have done better if Vinny Momo was on it from the start.
April 7th, 2006 at 10:14 am
This show was just fun and light I will miss it but they were idiots to move it against Lost this week.
April 7th, 2006 at 11:04 am
Gee, Lost or Heist? Did NBC really think it would hold up? Look how fast they switched L&O back to 10pm
April 7th, 2006 at 11:07 am
Cancelled before I got to see it, so at least I won’t miss anything.
April 7th, 2006 at 1:51 pm
My hubbie and I watched about 13 minutes of the first episode before determining it wasn’t worth our time.
April 7th, 2006 at 2:50 pm
I tried to watch it during one of my lonely nights at work, but I just didn’t care about it. No tears will be shed here.
April 7th, 2006 at 3:07 pm
It was like Wanted on TNT, this sort of Frankenstein creature patched together from other, better shows. Which I still kind of liked. But to be honest, I don’t really care about the heist they were planning. The only character I’ll really miss is the Overweight-American gentleman.
April 7th, 2006 at 3:57 pm
To me it jumped around too much. You could never get a hold of a steady plot line and just when you thought you had one they would do something goofy and you would feel stupid for watching.I guess it’s for kids, maybe it should be on earlier.
April 7th, 2006 at 5:06 pm
I am surprised “Conviction” has not been axed yet.
April 7th, 2006 at 11:30 pm
Yep, Mark Cullen confirmed it and bitched a bit: http://www.tvsquad.com/2006/04/07/goodbye-heist/
April 8th, 2006 at 12:19 am
I didnt care for the first episode, but after downloading ep2 and ep3 I liked it and wanted to see where they went with the story.
I wish they would release any remaining episodes via itunes or something.
April 8th, 2006 at 3:08 pm
I won’t miss it. It just seemed like they “borrowed” all their storylines and ideas from hit movies (Ocean’s 11, Italian Job, pulp fiction etc) and shows. Might have been a good show if the writers were creative in any way.
April 8th, 2006 at 8:48 pm
I’m really upset! I liked it a lot.
I thought it was a fun show, in the same vein as Las Vegas…
April 9th, 2006 at 3:05 am
[...] Heist, the stylish NBC robbery drama, has already been axed by the network, Michael Ausiello is reporting at his site (hey, Ausiello has a site? Cool.). [...]
April 10th, 2006 at 11:19 pm
It showed promise, but with the move, NBC pretty much kissed it goodbye even before the “official” announcement.
April 11th, 2006 at 12:50 am
I just saw a promo on NBc it looks like it is airing this week
April 11th, 2006 at 8:27 am
While it’s true that the plot or planned caper was nothing original (I tend to agree with Willa Cather: “…only two or three human stories, and they go on repeating themselves as fiercely as if they had never happened before.”), I thought HEIST was clever and witty. Solid writing, good characterization, good foreshadowing that made one try to guess the outcome. Also, Scott’s accent reminded me of Christopher Lambert and was not off-putting. Unhappy to see it cut.
April 12th, 2006 at 10:45 am
In this day and age, don’t you think Nielsen ratings are obsolete? I enjoyed Heist but there’s no way it could beat Lost in the ratings - I doubt anything can - but thanks to my VCR, I was able to watch both … I’m getting really tired of shows being yanked after a couple of episodes {The Book of Daniel comes to mind} … if the networks are going to kill shows this quickly, why should I bother watching?
April 13th, 2006 at 10:44 pm
Personally, I liked it. It wasn’t amazing, but it was fun. I agree with being tired of watching shows that get pulled after only a few episodes. The networks aren’t giving the shows enough of a chance to make their mark.
Of course putting a brand new show up against Lost was definitely going to affect it’s ratings. I don’t think that NBC should be cutting it so soon. They should just try moving it around on the timeslots and see how it does.
April 14th, 2006 at 9:22 am
I thought the show was very good. I hate not knowing whether the big heist is going to happen and since the last episode is Pops going to die before it happens. That sux!
April 17th, 2006 at 2:36 am
A worthy contender against prison break I thought
good story, amusing & made me wanna watch. I’m sorry to see this show go.
April 19th, 2006 at 5:07 pm
why are new episodes still airing if this show is cancelled. i am getting mixed messages on this one. i don’t know if i should keep watching or give up. i kinda like the show but i always seem to like the ones they axe. and betty i am with you on nbc killing shows too early. i was a big fan of boomtown and i liked daniel. nbc’s record is bad and i swore i would give up nbc shows since they kill them too fast but like a dummy i watched this one. it may just be the last i give nbc. and is moving the show to a new slot a thing of the past? i am sure there is a gap somewhere they could put it. oh i give up.
April 19th, 2006 at 8:37 pm
a terrific show. naturally it’s cancelled just to put more reality shows on. deal or no deal is for imbeciles..no wonder nbc is in 3rd place & Im a stockholder. why not put on the remainder of the series so the story can come to a proper conclusion in the summer instead of the lousy re-runs you usually have
April 20th, 2006 at 1:24 am
There’s an unmistakable air of panic to NBC’s decisionmaking these past few seasons … and don’t even get me started on the subject of their scheduling. I’d say they subcontract it to chimpanzees but, honestly, the chimps would probably do a better job. “Heist” started out very strongly, in terms of the Harris/Scott chemistry, but after a terrific opening it was pretty much downhill, IMO.
April 26th, 2006 at 4:27 am
I agree with BETTY. Why even bother watching network television?
Too many shows get canned early. The network’s should at least commit to a season if the show has an ongoing storyline. Why should I bother watching anything on NBC or FOX? I would rather wait until the season is over and buy/rent/download the whole season at once.
There are many good shows with loyal fanbases that dont get the neilsen ratings. These ratings are crap as proven with The Family Guy.
Joey was not that good of a show, but when they moved it to Tuesday, they killed it. They moved it to a timeslot where people either have shows they are hooked on, or people dont watch TV. After moving the show, they barely ever mentioned the change, so none of their fans knew when it was on.
April 26th, 2006 at 9:24 pm
Like stated above, NBC is in a complete state of paranoia. This show had potential but was put in a spot where it had absolutely no chance of succss. To put it up against 2 of the biggest powerhouses on one of TV’s most popular nights is complete insanity. Why not put it on Monday (when bauer is the only thing worth watching)night before or after 24 (8 or 10 pm) if u are trying to grab the young male demographic. Put it up against the completely overacting cast of characters on CSI Miami and their so-called star Horatio; who whispers his every line whether it be a cheesy cop joke or he is telling someone that their loved one has just been murdered. That time slot is begging for something original and if Heist would just drop the 15 out of the 45 minutes they spend on showing us the gangs home dynamic and drop their pathetic attempt at a “hot tough girl” for an actress that is not only attractive but can actually deliver a punch line, they may have a show that can make some noise. I for one enjoyed the show despite it’s flaws and thought it did show some really original stuff in the first three episodes. ie. the car chase scene when the getaway driver is throwing the chocolate pudding-filled condoms out of his convertible onto the winshields of the cops trailing him. As well as the playful banter between the fat black cop and white black cop which although it has been done before they have perfected this relationship to the tune of something resembling a tarintino dialogue. If they would also stop trying to put deep conversations between the characters performing the heists and just let them do the job with a funny line here or there, we will not fail to realize that they are professionals with a sense of humor who do stay cool under pressure. If they find the right time slot for Heist and the writers/producers/directors/ tone it down and not make it so hollywood via my previous suggestions and give it more of and independent (ie. Boondock Saints—a little darker and creative to catch the younger generations eye) feel, this show will go from entertaining to a genuine cant miss tv event. (not that this will ever happen but just a thought-maybe in a newer version with better actors) QUESTION; if the show never airs again does anyone know a way u can get the first season or remaining episodes of a cancelled show?
April 27th, 2006 at 12:48 am
IT WAS A ENTERTAING SHOW AND I AM SAD THAT I WONT BE ABLE TO SEE IF THE HEIST WOULD BE A SUCCESS OR NOT
April 28th, 2006 at 12:22 pm
NBC has become as indecisive and unsecure as Fox in their programming choices. Both love ditching shows without giving them any chance to catch on with viewers. It’s actually a losers mentality of expecting failure instead of being confident that good programming will eventually find its audience. Anyway, I thought “Heist” was entertaining and well-produced and deserved a half-season run to see if it could pull numbers eventually, just as “Book of Daniel” did. Putting “Heist” up against “Lost” just wasn’t fair to a any show in it’s infancy. NBC is desperate for hit shows right out of the box and they just have no patience for anything less than that.
May 2nd, 2006 at 11:11 pm
The show was good and Im really disappointed that they axed it. Would like to see the outcome. But the retards could just not do that to us, could they. Hate when these things happen :
May 2nd, 2006 at 11:13 pm
“Could just not do that to us..” That sounded weird. I think you get the point at least. So dont blame me. Im swedish!
May 5th, 2006 at 12:30 am
I’m bummed this show is gone. I really did enjoy it. Seems all the shows i like try up faster than they get going. Anyone remember Dead Like Me that was on Showtime? Best series ever. Canned after 1 year. What will happen to the rest of the episodes of Heist? I’d like to see how they played out and if they did get away with the ultimate heist!!
May 7th, 2006 at 6:33 pm
re: Heist - I enjoyed the joy, especially the banter, but I can understand it’s being cancelled. I just wish the morons at the networks would have the cojones to either announce a show’s cancellation, or burn off/b’cast the episodes they already have in the can.
peace
May 8th, 2006 at 9:20 pm
NBC sucks, Heist was entertaining, they haven’t
had a show with such style since Miami Vice.
First, you take a good show and put it up against
high rating shows, it would have done great on Friday nights. They need to fire the people who put together scheduling. You never give shows
the time to pick up regular. Book of Daniel would
have been a huge success. At this rate guys are heading downhill. Enough with law shows, you want ditch something, replace Conviction that show is soooooo boring.
May 9th, 2006 at 8:15 pm
I was really getting into HEIST. I think the network should’ve let it at least play out to the end. Next time they need to confur with me before pulling the plug!!! Damn, what will I watch now !!!
May 11th, 2006 at 1:34 am
I liked this show! I wanted to see it play out, too!
May 15th, 2006 at 1:04 pm
its very sad to hear that they are cancelling the show. i really liked the show. its more good than Thief. way too good. i hope they change there mind and put the series back on again on some other day rather than with the lost and american idol.
May 18th, 2006 at 2:45 pm
i hope i get to see the last episodes some day. i really thought it was a great show. better then theif…
May 19th, 2006 at 3:50 am
my girl and i both enjoyed “heist”, the braintrust that took it off air should be standing in an unemployment line! you find a show that makes you think(a bit),laugh(a bit) and it dissapears!?!?
May 21st, 2006 at 6:48 am
I think that this was a fun, dramatic and a humorous show. Don’t get why it was foiled… I loved it!!
May 21st, 2006 at 6:57 am
I thought this show was very amusing. And it was not as hard to follow as some people are saying. It was easy understanding and getting a grip of the plot. And the same thing with Boomtown, I really loved that show too. NBS should really put into concideration if they want to keep their viewers. And on what time to put their shows. Same time as lost? What is up with that…?
Though I do not like Lost at all. Some people seems to be addicted to it
May 29th, 2006 at 5:19 am
The show was smart, interesting and inventive in its overall approach… of course its cancelled. Typical of the big wigs. Any show worth a second look by people with any level of intelligence, will without doubt be axed and replaced with another inane sitcom, law and order/csi remake or a sad look into the pitiful lives we call reality tv.
sigh… as has been said… nobody ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the american public.
May 31st, 2006 at 12:53 pm
I loved the show and it would of been nice to see it played out. What a shame! : ( : (
May 31st, 2006 at 7:35 pm
i miss it! the catch of 24, the hipness of italian job, character development of lost……certainly better than las vegas?!
July 30th, 2006 at 1:19 pm
Nice show, prefered it than lost any day, to bad it got axed….but life is never fair
